A large part of the municipal operations is building and maintaining roads. The RM of Rudy also helps provide fire and ambulance services and emergency measures. The RM helps with the operation of recreation facilities, regional parks and libraries. Community planning and zoning plus community promotion and industrial development are key issues for the municipality.
Grading of roads is done on a regular rotation basis with grid roads and high traffic roads receiving first priority. Grader work is coordinated by the RM Superintendent and the RM Council. The ratepayers’ first line of contact is with their division Councillor.
Gravelling priorities are set by the RM Foreman and the Councillor for each division and becomes part of the Strategic Plan. The municipality source of gravel comes from two separate pits. The north gravel pit, located S½-31-31-06 W3 is owned by the RM of Rudy. A South Gravel pit is leased by the R.M. from Sask Agriculture and Food and is located in the E Section of 30-27-07 W3, RM of Loreburn No. 254.
The RM of Rudy ditch-mowing program takes place from June through September according to our Strategic Plan.
The RM of Rudy offers some assistance to ratepayers along the CTP to control dust. Other ratepayers may participate in our Dust Control product application at their own cost.
The Rural Municipality will undertake the removal of snow utilizing the municipal equipment in the following priority:
